Any clues as to the when yet?

I've missed the last 3 due to double bookings, and I see the next one is expected in August....there are 2 bad weekends for then, one on holiday, and the other immediately after my impending vasectomy (gulp, but 4 kids enough I feel lol).

Nailed on to be one of these weekends, question is will I be allowed to bring a an inflatable ring to sit on if it after the snip? I will also need a steady supply of crushed ice.

I can only suggest you keep an eye on APAt's own forum around Thursday.

Consensus at Rumour Central is that it will be August Bank Holiday Weekend...hopefully with 2x Day 1 (Sat/Sun) with the Final Table(s) on Monday.

Nothing set in stone yet but..there you go.

No problem tighty, understand fully how difficult these must be to organise.
But bank holiday weekend would be sweet (and less painfull).

yes that is the plan

the press release is written, everything is set..just need the green light

Forgive me but the actual details need to wait....its not ideal as time is short but we have to get everything signed and sealed

What I will say is that plans for Season 2 have me completely blown away...exciting times ahead for APATers

Whatever date is announced, I feel that it is going to be at too short of notice to the members.

No problem with sorting the venues, but we should know actually when it is going to be staged.

I know from speaking to Des in the past I know that he, and the rest of the APAT Team, are concerned with the amount of notice given and am certain that this is something that they are addressing from Season 2 and beyond.

From the APAT Forums...

Apologies for the continuing delay everyone, the plans that we are putting in place go beyond these two events and while they are delaying our ability to announce details of the European event right now, there will be benefits for all APAT members for a considerable period thereafter.  The announcement will be made after a major meeting next Thursday.

and...

...as far as flights and accomodation is concerned, I have highlighted that not giving our customary 4 week notice period could lead to increased expeneses for members.  Unfortunately big business is sometimes slow to move, but this delay will be a one off.

From the APAT boards...

For information and pre planning, it is our intention to play the European Amateur Poker Championship at the brand spanking new Grosvenor "G" Casino in Luton, over the bank holiday weekend, August 25th to 27th.

Please don't book anything yet, as final details will be confirmed later this week.

However, members may find the above information useful to make preliminary plans at home or at work.
Only kidding about the room...but I'll pop some links up in a tick..

[EDIT] Here we are:

Hotels nearby:

Days Inn, Luton - £75 per night (single/twin) looks to be closest.
Premier Travel Inn - Luton - £54 per night (single/twin)

Both indicate that they may be suitable for your needs, Ironside...you'd have to check.

Now....where are you flying from? Somewhere up north isn't it?
