$1/$2 NL Cash Game

Seat 1: Player A ($198 in chips)
Seat 6: Player B ($100.4 in chips)
Seat 8: Player C ($196.35 in chips)
Seat 10: Player D ($150.4 in chips)

Player A: SB $1
Player B: BB $2

*** HOLE CARDS ***

Player C: Fold
Player D: Fold
Player A: Call $1
Player B: Raise $6
Player A: Raise $36
Player B: Raise $92.4
Player A: Call $62.4

Assuming both players A & B have only been at the table for a short while and do not know each other, what do you think the ranges are for both players?

I'll give you one of their hands at some point along with the full hand history when we've argued for a bit....  Smiley

Looks to me like:

B "i'm stealing your $2"
A "you ain't stealing my $2, i'm gonna steal your raise mug"
B "bugger, he sussed me, i need to pretend i have a really strong hand, reraise!!"
A "oh heck, he must actually have a hand but i'm priced in to call this and try to hit"

So they both have a very wide range Cheesy 23off - AA. Hope this helps

I was guessing what they might have, not what I'd have played especially in SB

Unless this is some sort of trick question this kind of action shouldn't really occur without a range of QQ+, AK.

Player A had AK here.

Personally I struggle with cash games anyway - particularly on hands like AK, so would be interested to hear how others would have tried to play the situation.

Players often forget that AK is still a drawing hand..Ok, it still strong against any other non-paired hand but it's still a drawing hand.

Player A should have just called the re-raise to $6 and seen the flop. He/She would have a lot more information then.

I'd be interested to know what Player B had...with the action seen I'd have to say KK or AA should be the only possibilities.
