I think it's only natural for families to worry about something they don't understand. Even if they do understand it, they don't know how good you are or how well you 'manage' your game. Get them to come and watch you play - that often helps.
Very true and also thats why i support DTD so much as i think its a misconception on the family's part that when u say ur off to the CASINO to play poker they think you spend hundreds of pounds on blackjack and roulette as thats all they know about as poker is a very alien thing to most people in my area (mainly a farming community). If i was going to a CARDROOM such as DTD they might be less concerned, i dont know.
One thing do know is the girls round here love a poker player so there is one great positive side to being known as a degenerate poker player! Ive got so many stories but maybe best saved for a pm or summat as i might get banned for saying them here.
