playing in a live £50 rebuy comp,   29 runners normally takes £5k  this comp eventually took £4,900

blind levels during rebuy are 50-100/100-200 then 200-400  all 30 min levels, starting stack 3,000

i have just moved tables and the blinds are 200-400,

im on the bb with with 6,700 chips  there is an utg raise to 1,200 and 3 limpers i elect to flat call on the bb hopeing to win a monstor,

the flop comes im 1st to act and decided to try isoloate the bare A or some idiot with AK and push my entire stack in 5,500

is that the correct move?  because after the hand i was told by 3 players that i should of check called and hoped for a non spade turn ?

the outcome doesnt matter its just if i played it right im intrested in,

thanks for your advice, -   stu

I'm pushing here 100% of the time.  Check calling? What kind of a bet are you going to be calling?  A pot sized bet will leave you about 1bb behind.  I can see an argument for checking in the hope everyone else checks and if they do so betting a non-spade turn, but I would much rather take the chance to double or treble up.    You just about double up if you take the pot down and have a 2-1 chance of trebling up if called by a draw.  I think that the pot is too big to give a free card.

push is fine though I probably just would have stuck in a measly 1500 bet and hope someone comes over the top. Push ius the safest thing to do I guess..but I'd like to see others get their chips in the middle here and don't want to scare them off.

I think I'd have pushed.  If someone has a higher single spade and another comes on the turn, you'd be beaten so I wouldn't give the chance.  Happy to take down the pot here with the 7 high

i don't push here. How often in a tournament do you flop a made hand in a 5 way pot? not many. You may get called, you may not, you may already be beat.

If utg makes the continuation bet and someone holds the bare ace the pot is likely to swell to magical proportions. Someone may hold a set or KQ with or a set, again likely to put more money in. All in all i'm going to give as many people as possible a chance to put more money in before i reveal my hand. There bare ace has odds to call anyway so try to get some dead money in to the pot to and hold on tight and hope nobody catches you up if you are infact good here.

Im checking there and letting someone else bet b4 sticking them all in, the bare ace is gonna call anyway as he is getting around the right price to hit.

By checking you give a big king or other strong hand the chance to bet with a far inferior hand to yours, by moving in you are making it easy to pass a big king and the like. If you play it this way and the bettor does have the Ace of spades and wins the hand then you have been outdrawn in a big pot but in that spot you are gonna win around 2 times out of 3 in the long run.

it's a great push given it's the rebuy period and the fact it looks like the play of someone holding    Two Diamonds or something. if i was last to act and had a king i'd probably have to call you due to you only having just moved table.

in the end i elected to push and i got called my AQ with the Q of spades,   the fact i lost the hand dosent bother me it was just if i did the correct thing

and 1 of the reasons i pushed because knowing the players i was playing with i was fairly confident anybody with a K would of called me regardless
