i just wanted to play a small pot after the flop but he wouldn't let me. If I C bet and get raised I have to let go of the hand I think, he could be freerolling with or something. I have some showdown value.

I lead the flop all of the time, Im not sure what you are trying to do here, I don't mind checking here on a dry board with tptk, but while keeping the pot small you end up playing the rest of the hand as a total guessing game.

As played calling the turn looks good. River you are probably going to have to call given the odds but i would expect to be behind but not often enough to fold.

obv i posted the hand cos I'm unsure of how I played it, but we try to play big pots with big hands and small pots with small hands right? I have not got a big hand so I am trying to keep the pot small. Is there a better way to do this or do you want to commit to getting all in with this hand on the flop?

I find spots like this pretty hard.

I think I could maybe find a fold on the river, I can't think of much that you beat that would bet this way. AxKd seems to be a legit part of his range on the flop and turn, but I really think a hand like that would check on the river. I guess another thing to think about on the river is whether you're calling to split or to win.

Hmm...I'd put his range on something like AxKd, AxQd, connected diamonds. I can't really see some one betting a set like this since it's only like 1/2-2/3rd of pot each time, I could be wrong here tho. Would some one with his Stats raise pre and call a re-raise with connected diamonds?

Meh, I have no idea. I think while I am playing I'd probably call this, and then afterwards when I think about it decide it's probably a fold on the river, or maybe sooner.

I would c bet this without thinking and probably close down if I met any resistance, so your approach is interesting in that it might induce AxQd or even QxQd/KxKd to make that last bet on the river.  I think you have to call the river as played, but he's going to have 99 a bit of the time AxKd most of the rest I'd think.

I'd agree with this..you can't check call all the way though..but it's tough to find a fold now..
