I remember watching football matches on teletext. Happy days...
Did anyone else ever play that live quiz thingy they used to do on the teen pages on Channel 4 teletext? Can't remember the exact details, but you had to call in with your answer. I won £50 once, which was a lot of money in those days!

Bizarre - both from Scotland - both have Ceefax.......I sense a theme here....
carefull
btw what is ceefax?
It is the text service on your TV ( BBC ). I love it, in 1988 I got a video that had a teletext service and I used it every day as a Kid. In about 1991 I was fortunate enough to get a TV that had teletext with a pause button and coloured buttons
. Sadly that old TV is dead now, but my current digital TV provides an even better service. Long live ceefax. It is the same sport page as is shown online, however it is easier to navigate around on the TV and it is far quicker.

312 was the best page on ceefax. I use to read it every day. Football news in brief R.I.P.

The digital text they have now is fantastically rubbish. It says exactly the same stuff as Ceefax used to, except it takes about twenty times as long to come up on screen. Plus all the fun stuff has gone. And it's all on the BBC website anyway.
Best things about Ceefax/teletext
Live betting updates on horse/dog races
Bamboozle on
The computing pages on BBC2 text in the 700s. This was way back in the early 80s when people would download programs from Ceefax onto their BBC Micros.
Putting the 888 subtitles up on screen during the 'guess the intro' round on Never Mind The Buzzcocks
Total number 1 best thing
Digitiser computing pages on
. Mr Biffo, Ring Sir, the reveals - bliss.

Bamboozle was/is awesome but im sure they had a 10 question sports quiz aswell but i think they stopped doing that, also now and next tv guide was handy aswell, easier than sky's menu, maybe!

I sometimes use the subtitles as well when watching TV shows. I have good hearing and just got into the habit while watching DVD's .
