£75 Freezeout
Level 2
50/100
10-handed table

3.500 starting chips, I have 3,100 and raise to 300 from mid to late position with K-Js. Mayetboy behind me smooth calls, everyone folds.

Mateyboy only play around 80% of his hands and is yet to have made a pre-flop raise. Just a couple of calls. He has just under his starting stack.

Flop comes K-7-4 rainbow. I check, he bets 350, I make it 1,000, he moves all-in.

Is this an easy fold? Should I have bet out? Is it a definite raise pre-flop?

How would you play it?

Raising is fine pre-flop when first to enter the pot. Do not like the check on the flop. K-J turning into top pair-ok kicker is not really big enough to slow-play in a tournament like this and your oppo is passive. Bit fancy-dan cashy type play for me snoops.

Your opponent puts the pre-flop raiser and post-flop check-raiser all-in. Can he really be doing this with K-10 or worse?

A lot of your chips are in there now though so it's close and I don't know why he wants you out of the pot on a rainbow flop with the type of hand he's representing.

Probably a crying call for me here, but another couple of k in front of me and I find a fold.

£75 Freezeout
Level 3
100/200
10-handed table

Raise to 300??...shouldn't this be a MINIMUM of 400 (100/200 blinds)?

Anyway, I'm not raising with KJs pre-flop (but that's just me)...his bet is only 1/3 of the pot (approx..because I'm not sure what it should be) which is pretty trap-smelling to me.

I suspect you are facing trips....I think, on balance, fold.
