POTW

Sure it was 'hi-tec' in its day..
I did a Google image search for "Perdio TV" and found this picture immediately, it is the exact model that we had. The knob that he knocked off was the top left as we look. I haven't seen this telly for almost 40 years, but that image transported me back to so completely that the hairs on the back of my neck stood up. I am almost in tears here.
funny story actually, when I came back from Holland about 10 years ago I brought my Sony TV with me, not realising that it wasnt really compatible with the UK transmissions (the picture was fine, but there was no sound). The house I was renting had an old push button tv in the garage, which had a lousy picture, but the sound was ok. Not really having money to splash out on a new tv right away I setup a system when I had my TV on the tV stand, the big old push button TV down behind the sofa where it was pretty much out of sight.
anyway some mates came round to watch the football one night and about 3 nights later we were in the pub where one of my mates started quizzing me on my "surround sound" setup, and was it expensive and difficult to install.
i found it difficult to keep a straight face...
