What a great game it was last night.  I can honestly say it was brill being involved at the end there..!!!

We all now know that August ended drawn for points and now both teams have agreed to do a heads-up between the top players of each team.

2 points...!!!

The GUKPT starts next Thursday - Have they no consideration for our September team games..!!!

And, more seriously, something I think should be decided before we start next Tuesday, is, what if there is another draw..Huh?  If it is decided now, there will not be play-offs and sharing the prize between 10 players...

Maybe some ideas would be useful..??

My idea...  of the 2 players that are top in the 2 teams, the person with the lowest score wins, and if they still draw, then the person with the most first places, or second places, or, with the lowest score in 1 game...  (ie.. if the best one player has done is 6th and the best the other has done is 3rd, then 3rd wins it)..

Was just an idea, and is open to more, but the decision needs to be made before the Tuesday game so all know from the start..!!

Cheers

Carl..

Not sure I like that idea.  It's an event over the whole month so it's possible for a team to win the league (or draw) without making a final table where as the other drawing team may have had 1 win out of the whole lot and the rest average results.  I don't see what's wrong with the play off. I think the heads up idea is probably the best, especially with the split of the cash between the two teams.

I agree that it is a team game, but, it is now being decided non-team style...

It is similar to a football league table, being decided at the end on the difference of the goals scored etc...  Draw the league, goal difference wins...  What I am suggesting is draw the league, let the points decide...  Player A team A 200 points...  Player B Team B 205 points... Player A wins, no play-offs etc....  If it is still drawn after a points tally, then a play-off..

The chances of a draw again are pretty remote,.....but yes the lowest score between the two, would solve it.

Therefore well done Maldini ! Grin

Nice one Carl,

Going forward I think this would work, unfortunately none of us would have thought that a series of tourneys like this would have resulted in a draw (and would be highly unlikely to happen again) so I think the play off for this month is the right thing to do.

Again well done to both teams and good luck for the play off.

Bolt,

Your idea agve me a giggle, though I don't think you'd like to be up against my tools, a bit more substantial than a remote  Wink

I think that being its a team game, then both teams should play against each other in a 10 seater STT..

Simple as that, then add up all teams scores as per the league now, and lowest total wins, then individually them scores can be added up and that person goes to the final (added on top of league scores or not, not sure about that) then the person with the lowest points goes.

Where are we on the ruck?

Im with bolt ... a proper good ruck between the 2 seat contenders with the other team members all standing round saying "FIGHT FIGHT FIGHT" is the way to go.

then the last one to get a good punch in before sark runs off to tell the teacher (Tighty) and it gets broken up, is the winner.

SIMPLE !!

We had a big discussion about this last night. There is no way that a player who isn't one of the top 2 (1 top from each team) can become the seat winner at the end, so that is off. Which means that the SNG would be a completely team event, playing for your top place man to get the seat rather than for yourself to get the seat. This makes it a 5vs5 affair with all sorts of strange soft play, chip dumping, sanwiching. It just wouldn't work, even if we tried to play it completely straight up. Also, there is the fact that the seat could be decided by another player and you could cost your team leader the seat for example, so heads up is best way. And it's nice that we have decided on a 10 way split, means we all get something after the marathon effort!

Good luck you 2.

Oh, and on topic: I think yes, it should go on whichever payer has the best individual overall score to split a tie (in future, not now Tongue). Then if that happend to be a tie also (really unlikely!) onto wins, 2nds etc. All like Carl said.
