if blonde ran $110 + $11 freezeout sats for the £500 broadway comp, with 1 seat for every 10 players, would we get plenty of takers ?

Sounds fine but I would hope we would get a decent structure for that ie. 4k chips and 20 min clock.

Unless there is a lot of interest I would suggest that Blonde only run a satellite for one event to maximise the number of runners.  If the guys at the Broadway are interested in promoting the satellite it would be worth asking them to hand out some flyers for the event.  I know from speaking to a few people on Friday night  that there a quite a few regulars who would be interested in playing an online satellite.  If a satellite is definitely going ahead it might be worth having a poll to see what peoples preferences are.

I doubt you'd get many runners tbh, maybe a $50 rebuy?

Good news guys.

There will be 2 online satelites for the Broadway fessie for 2 different events.

One being on Blonde (organised by Richard) and one elsewhere (organised by me)

I would assume these to be for the £500 and the £300 events.

Once Blonde have formally announced which they are going to run, I will announce where the other Satelite will take place and how to enter.

So if anyone frequents the Broadway, it would be good if you could spread the word.

More details soon

Sorry for the delay.

Just waiting for the word, but it looks like a $50 f/o with a decent structure.

One seat guaranteed, but am pushing for two.

Will post details as soon as I know

The very last hand of the night goes to Dewi James, who finds ACES and talks Raymond O’Mahoney into calling his all-in preflop bet of 15k.  “If I had AQ, I’d call!” says Dewi.  Raymond calls holding pocket 66’s.

Any news about the online satellites? I compromised my Saturday night (her indoors not happy) to go and play the £25R/B sat for the £500 DCF. I was somewhat amazed to find a deathly quiet Casino, at 7:50 the cardroom mgr came and gave me my money back saying I was the only entry

The cardroom guy went onto say that he is sure that next week people will be moaning that there not enough Sat's, he predicted £100 single card turn overs will the most popular way to get a seat?

For some reason, and I'm not sure why, but Saturday nights in the Brum area have always struggled to get numbers - satellite or not. Maybe people leave this as their 'social' night and get back to the felt on Sunday?
Having said that, the Wednesday night sats they've been running have also been a low turnout too. I would imagine though that the super sat for the main event on Fri 21st will go down well, especially with 10 seats guaranteed

Problem is they are not running the type of satellites people want to play.  Saturday nights are always quiet and not many people want to play a satellite that is only going to make 1 or 2 seats when the cost is likely to be £100 + for a £25 RB.  They were running a £15 RB on Saturdays which might have attracted more runners if it was a satellite.  Maybe they should have asked they players (and not just a selected few) what they wanted to play before the arranged the satellites.  The Broadway have always been very resistant to running lower entry tournaments but IMO people won't spend as much on a satellite as they would on their normal Friday night RB because at least if they are spending £120 they have a chance to win some money.  A £50 FO or a £10 RB would have been a better bet.

When I mentioned the possibility of having online Satellites last week the cardroom manager looked at me like I was mad.  I tried to explain that by hosting online satellites they would get more entries for the festival (surely very important due to the volume of feativals now) and raise the profile of the Casino by encouraging players from further afield to try and qualify.  They already have a linkup with Virgin so why not try and arrange something with then ?  It's not like hosting an online satellite would affect the turnout for the live satellites.

It says a lot that we the players are having to arrange it among ourselves.
