I liked the youtube vid Sark, thanks!

It's easy to cheat online as the backgammon programs available are very good (unlike poker, there are no unknowns) and people can just use them to plot their moves.

Maybe in the future the BG sites will be able to detect cheaters at backgammon.

Some of them already do, they analyse the games using the same programs, I imagine they look for people playing as the software would.

Unfortunately I don't think they can stop it entirely as:

You can run it from a different machine (so they can't detect the software itself).
You can randomise your play and choose inferior moves (that are still +EV) or even just use the software to help you make tough decisions.
