We clearly need an official APAT announcement ASAP as to whether these casinos are all going to be stopped from continuing to sell ahead of the published time.

Already we have people who can get there early organising to buy in their mates. What a load of crap (and I'm not aiming that at APAT).

Absolute nonsense!! my offer is to assist regular APATers who may miss out because they live outwith Edinburgh, can't see any harm in that.

The problem is with the Casinos not sticking by the "register on the day " agreement if that was agreed.

You see on this forum many requests for people who live a distance away from venues to have someone register for them.

And it wasn't aimed at you either. Your offer is an inevitable consequence of the casinos' actions.

That your offer is aimed at APAT regulars is largely irrelevant anyway. The fact is that those expecting to turn up and register as advertised on Saturday, whether regulars or first timers, are potentially being disadvanted because some casinos seem to have declared UDI. And that's what is crap and, of course, the fault of the casinos concerned.

The critism should lay with the casinos and possibly with a lack of communication with APAT.   I don't think it's fair buying people in though.  I have to make an effort to get to the Vic on Saturday and I'm going to be well pissed off if it's sold out before I get there.

Was your quote.

Don't know where you are from Kenjude, but I know Edinburgh and guarantee that the 80 seats would easily be taken up by regulars with little or no interest in APAT itself, but merely the value offered.

I accept that there will be people who may not be able to get a friend to register them but if they could , they would.

More than likely the same at other cardrooms.

Can't believe you haven't got someone who could register you Silo.

As I said, it's merely to assist a couple of guys I know as APAT regulars.

Yup, and it was about the situation and the consequences the casinos have created, not about your offer. Sorry for not making that clearer. It's inevitable that people will do whatever they can to get round these sitatuations when they happen.

I'm intending/hoping to play at Luton with my nephew.

I think you are all worrying needlessly, the "locals" aren't going to be attracted to these.
£20 buyin for a £250 maximum top prize just holds no value to regular players, one or two might get near sellout but very few will.
Do that many people even know bout APAT?

Everyone that reads Poker Players knows about it and that it's free registration, plus all the Blue Sq customers, plus any other magazines that advertise it well too.  Don't forget there's only around 80 seats available in each venue, I bet APAT has thousands of members now.

I do hope you are right though.

Not some of the people who work in the casinos...

ian i played a £25 freezeout last night with no added value which had more than 80 runners in a smaller catchment area than most of the regionals
so i think its very likely with the added value that these will sell out
