Oh and BTW every comp at walsall £20 + is dealer dealt, though as i said earlier it is not in their October schedule that is mailed to their members.

All the APAT events are dealer dealt, with no juice.

Again i was referring to no value for "locals"..............

Just put this on the APAT forum:

Sorry about this everyone.  The casinos should not have been selling seats early.  As stated in a different thread some days ago, APAT hoped to investigate whether the entry period could be extended, but it was agreed that seats would be sold 'on the day' for this event - to give everyone an equal chance of securing a seat.

I will be sending an email to each of the casinos this evening to clarify that seats should not be on sale yet.

Similarly, APAT has sent a Regional Tournament Pack to each casino via the National Poker Managers at Grosvenor and Gala.  This information will not be known across the casinos at this point, but obviously everyone will be made aware of the plans for the weekend.

On another point, the casino monthly diaries were pulled together a few weeks ago, before details of the APAT Regionals were sorted, and that is why the first APAT events are not listed, and why a number of the casino staff appear unaware of them.

Will the casinos have an APAT membership list?

So do I, otherwise it makes it easy for locals, who haven't made the effort to become a member, to take up the seats before those travelling further. Looking more hit and miss by the minute.

You turn up at a Grosvenor and register, or play in an APAT event online on BlueSQ and you are automatically a member.  Part of the sponsorship agreement so I believe.

Billy the Fish playing a little roullete and never having heard of APAT will be inclined to throw his score down then ,and when he gets pumped out,he will never use his APAT membership nor ever be inclined to

just a thought

I agree.

Same for the online events, although the seats are unlimited there, and so it's not as big a problem.

No added value?  Dealer dealt tournament with no juice (and a free buffet!)?  Sounds good value to me.

Hardly enough for me to make the hours drive especially without a guaranteed seat.

Okay, I have to say that although nice to be given free membership this season, but in light of everything, I would most certainly prefer paid membership.

Giving anyone who plays an APAt event automatic membership will mean that genuine members who have loyally supported the association will miss seats that are taken by someone who just "Fancied" a cheap comp with no understanding of the ethos of the APAt. There was some disscussion when local players filled up spaces in previous live events and did well, yes, they joined the APAt after, but was it really to be a member of our association or simply to play further events.

I would happily pay a renewal fee if the events were made members only again.
