imminent, trying to secure streaming rights for final table. (sorry)
That's got Ed very interested in APAT.

Definitions of association:
* a formal organization of people or groups of people; "he joined the Modern Language Association"
* the act of consorting with or joining with others; "you cannot be convicted of criminal guilt by association"
* the state of being connected together as in memory or imagination; "his association of his father with being beaten was too strong to break"
* affiliation: a social or business relationship; "a valuable financial affiliation"; "he was sorry he had to sever his ties with other members of the team"; "many close associations with England"
* the process of bringing ideas or events together in memory or imagination; "conditioning is a form of learning by association"
* a relation resulting from interaction or dependence; "flints were found in association with the prehistoric remains of the bear"; "the host is not always injured by association with a parasite"
Ironside will no doubt disagree with me, but from what I can reason, we have an association and a tour.
Indeed, from the very first press release and build up to our first live event, there was merely an idea of an association but from that very first event, an association has been growing.
Friendships have made, ideas to improve things for all members and infact, for all poker players, are constantly being discussed between us, either in person or via our own forum. This very interation and working together is the very essence of an association, one that is continuing to grow and slowly influencing poker in the UK, if not further afield, despite the occasional problem.

your defining the assocation as a community
basically i dont care about the community
i care about an organisation that will bring poker forward

No, the APA as defined by it's and our actions, plus it's aims, does indeed quantify as an association to improve poker and is indeed working to that end.
Why not try listening and getting involved, maybe if you do, you will see that Tony, Des, Rich and us members are doing a little more than you think.

us members are doing what?
what you mean try and get involved i am doing my bit by trying to press them into getting a commitee together
i am also asking the APA to represent my views
which i make clear
so far as i am aware the members so far are turning up to events and enjoying themselves as a comnunity
i know what des and tikay and richard are doing for the tour and am thankfully for them for doing it
but i want an assocaiotion where my views as a member can be put forward
not a group of poker loving friend that like a drink for that i have blonde

i didnt join apat for a comunity or the tour
i will proberly not play many tour events this year
i will more than likely not play any online games
i aint intrested in a comunity
i joined the APA for what it could do for amateur players in the UK
if APAt hadn't included the APA as a major part of there promotion
i wouldnt of joined
as the tour isnt worth it for me spending hundreds of pounds to play in a £75 comp inst value for money
but back to the point in question i feel you saying that you dont want locals joining because they dont want
to be part of the Association is wrong
they more than likely dont want to be part of the comunity but then why should they some of us that
paid £10 dont want to be of a comunity
there at the moment isnt an association that i would recognise as one
and yes i am a member of quite a few associations that represents me on a number of issues
but at present the APAt doesnt have an Associaton that represents anyone on anything other than the tour

and since that statement what has happened have nominations or voting on members started
the same statement about the Assoc was made when it was first launched
but Des has so much on his shoulders with the tour he hasnt been able to get the Assoc of the ground
