Well, not at all like the 2pm stampede expected. Turned up at 1pm, 5 ppl outside (i think they were cleaners). went off for a pint then back just before 2.

2.30 and all 22 of us sat down, including the lass who had just finished her 5 min lesson on how to play,  after the first hand there was 23 left

Announcement "this is a £20 freezeout, shuffle up and deal" (self-deal)

We were told there were 2 seats available for the national event, i asked if it should be rounded up to 3 seats, but i was shown the schedule and it was to be rounded down. I asked the players if they would be happy to reduce the prize fund to add extra seats  £460 minus £150 = £310 prize fund paid down to 3rd. No-one objected but staff said no, ok then

BTW some players didn't even know what they were playing for

So we started playing, everyone aiming for 3rd spot coz the board was reading

1st   £ ? ? ?
2nd  £110
3rd   £150

They didn't know anything about any buffet

After a while the staff decided they will offer 3 seats

When we were down to 2 tables ( after 3 players went out) they did provide dealers. Was quite a good game, but i got the wrong bingo card at reception, so i get no seat, points or cash but i will make the effort to get to the next one.

I'll pass this onto the rest of the team Fitz, and make sure we speak to the venue about the points you raise..at least they seem to have shown flexibility with regard to the dealers and the 3rd seat.

Hi Tex, we were in touch with the casinos througout the day and instructed them to add the third seat.  APAT have certainly taken some good learnings from the first leg and we will ensure those points that caused confusion on Saturday are communicated more clearly for the second leg in November.

Thanks Des, i offered to buy anyones beers if they dealt (consistancy - wether good or bad) one guy volunteered but wasn't drinking. He was very good and the game flowed smooth enough, even when the lass kept checking her handranking chart against the board and her cards. Her very first live tourny, she did quite well. She bet, we fold
Still bought him beers but drank it meself
