Fantastic tribute, to a great mate
Logged

The very last hand of the night goes to Dewi James, who finds ACES and talks Raymond O’Mahoney into calling his all-in preflop bet of 15k.  “If I had AQ, I’d call!” says Dewi.  Raymond calls holding pocket 66’s.

http://www.blondepoker.com/index.php?q=node/12689

we've had some fantastic players added to the hall of fame for beating the odds on the poker table i.e jp kelly, stuart fox, brian wilson and most recently julian thew to name just a few.
we've had recreational players included for poker achievements i.e trace t, suzanne, colchester kev and recently  jonmw.

weve even had 2 people entered in for being total nutcases by pushing there mind and bodys to the extremes in the tank and flushy.

every single one of those and the ones not mentioned are well deserved.

now lets talk about our latest addition to the blonde hall of fame.

a guy who has beaten the odds in real life, a man who achieves in life every day and a human being that pushes his body to the extremes every day.

Brendan as fought everything that life has thrown at him for many years, hes been dealt some shit hands but has played them most determindly and has refused to fold.

Brendan could have gave up at the first bad hand and lesser men like myself probably would, not once have i seen brendan look for sympathy or wollow in self pity.
it would be very easy for Brendan to sit at home, fulfil his love of poker online, no that would be to easy for a man like Brendan!
Brendan attends every blonde bash (hospital permitting), a number of APAT events and numerous other live events.

i have just spent the weekend in Brendans company along with many other blondes. It was great to see Brendan around the casino, hear his infectious laugh and see his cheeky grin.

Brendan is an inspiration to us all and proving no matter what life throws at us we can beat it with determination and a stubborness not to give in!

i know Brendan will be embaressed by this thread and i hope my words do him justice and theres so much more i could add but please join me in congratulating Brendan on his entry into the blonde hall of fame.

A TRUELY deserved honour.

A GREAT man.

First time I met Eric, was at cardiff last year (or maybe the year before?!)

I soon became aware what a great guy he was, and at the end of the night while he was asking for someone to operate the wheelchair lift, i shouted out "Get up and walk you lazy bastard!" - knowing it would be taken with the humour it was intended.

The next day, Eric WALKED into the casino! A sight to be remembered.

Ask me to define courage, bravery, modesty and humility and I will point toward Brendan.

Congratulations.

Personally I feel this is not deserved and I'm sure that many here will agree with me, and furthermore...........I'll get my coat.

Congrats Brendan  Wink
