Wont make me appreciate Sven, its the same players giving us the same results yet the manager will get all the blame and the players will get richer...just not good enough and havent been for years now. Euro 96 was the last quality squad (5-1 in Germany was a one off).

Under Sven we qualified for 3 in a row.
Under Sven we reached 3 quarter finals.
Without Sven we look like not qualifying.
Hmm maybe it is because we got rid of Sven?

Not strictly true we do have the odd very good game every now and then but there's no consistency and our biggest problem is we get 1-0 up and then throw it away by going into our shells and allowing teams to come onto us (especially in big games when we need a result).

We play by far our best football when we play at pace and get at teams (that's also what scares other teams when they play us, but we only seem to play that way once in a blue moon), I'd rocket the team and the coaching staff and get someone in who recognises we should play to our strengths - not our weaknesses.

Best find a stream on the net.

How about the one that runs through Moscow itself?

or because we settled for someone with even less managerial skills rather than going for an improvement no matter how long the appointment took (F.A bowed to public pressure and panic appointed the only person available at short notice).

I agree with Boldie at least he'd play to strengths.

Good luck to the Scots tonight, we need at least one team in or it won't be worth watching.

Under Sven we were never good enough either

Its a red herring

Its very boring you going on about him just because he is now at Eastlands, leave it for heaven's sake

Those Sven facts do look good on paper, but we were never impressive for long...I cant see any manager bringing glory with the current group of players.

p.s come on Scotland

p.s Russia have to play Israel and ?.  if they get six points we're out. All we can do is beat Coratia at home (tough but doable) and hope for the best

I rated Sven before he came to City, but will leave it.

Mclaren was the obvious and the only suitable English candidate in my view at the time. If he does go, it has to be a foreign coach as we have no English ones ready and waiting.

Fingers crossed for Israel next month.

Sam Allardyce (won't happen but he'd be great).

the most obvious choice, nationality aside, was O'Neill. Englishman wise, Allardyce was arguably as natural a choice as McClaren

both Sam and Martin were Interviewed but not to the liking of the suits from the county FAs who choose

I do hope we choose ther best candidate irrespective of nationality next time but we won't

Georgia have scored. The whole day could turn out to be a disaster. I am off to get my calculator and the league tables.  Sad
