Yes, I don't see why not, there are a few adult references, but nothing too risky. It's very much your usual fairytale affair with something for everyone, and enough imagination and action to keep the kids entertained for a couple of hours.

It's pretty good. It takes much from the Princess Bride, so is using a successful film as a guide. Although the story is a bit naff at times, the end in particular, I have to confess to being rather entertained in places. Robert De Niro's turn as a gay pirate isn't very funny concept wise, but the mere fact that it's Robert De Niro makes it mildly amusing. Also, I like the Princes, and the ghosts drew more than a rye smile. A lot of people liked Michelle P in this film. She's undoubtedly hot, but I actually found her acting a bit wooden at times. Overall though, it's jolly good fun if you take it at face value, plenty of cameos (although many are pointless) to keep you saying 'look, it's that guy from that show', some nice visuals, and enough imagination to maintain your attention. A very feel good film and certainly worth a watch.

I enjoyed it too..after all the delectable Claire Danes is in it!

Compared to the novella from which it is derived they've written a screenplay that is a whimsical romantic comedy..a perfect date movie really, with only glimpses of the gritty stuff that a different screenplay could have used...apparently they decided that the novella was so graphic that they could not hope to do it justice on film so went for the "Hollywood" approach instead. Matthw Vaughn directed this after Terry Gilliam pulled out several years ago. Would have been fun to see his surreal take on it

Stephen Fry was originally lined up to play the pirate but De Niro got it instead!
