Man I dunno what I am doing basically I am in the process of buying speakers and a new DVD player (upscaling as I cant decide if blu-ray or hd-dvd but i digress)

What I want is 5.1 setup with enough extra inputs on the amp (or a way of splitting the inputs) for

DVD
SKY+ ( I have SKY just now but am gonna upgrade soon)
XBOX360
Wii

My budget is £250 for the DVD player and speaker setup..

Has anyone been in a situation where they need lots of inputs like this and can reccomend a good setup??

They are excellent there and im sure you will find out everything you need to know, and more.

I'll give you some advice - dont buy a combined  dvd/speaker/amp thingy - spend a few quid extra and buy seperate components - this gives you flexibility to upgrade in the future :

a quick look at the richersounds website would suggest :

yamaha rxv631 av receiver £140
speaker system yamaha nsp110 £70
dvd player - toshiba sd370 £40

need a few quid for cables, but this is roughly on budget.

The one weak point in this system is the speakers, so if you have any extra dosh you could look at upgrading these.

Laz cheers for this..

I actually went and bought a cheap set of ebuyer amp and speakers.. .. and a philips DV5960 (which is great) .. also a 4 way switch for audio inputs.. its not ideal but I plan to upgrade the speakers and amp fairly soon
