To watch the football games broadcast by Sky, visit sites like http://www.myp2p.eu and http://livefooty.doctor-serv.com and followe the beginner guides which show you how to download applications like TVAnts, Sopcast, TVU and others. These take feeds from various TV stations around the world and stream the action over the net.

It's a bit hit-and-miss sometimes finding a station with English commentary and the picture quality will almost definitely look pants on a 40" screen, but it does work.

I'm not aware of anywhere that streams non-sport Sky programs in real time.

There's no way you'll get anything to show on a 40" screen which will look anything other than spectacularly awful.

If you've got a sky subscription (or some one in the UK) you could buy a slingbox.

This would do exactly what you require.

http://www.slingmedia.com/

Dougie.

(p.s. i can help if required).

Yep, slingbox will do it. Streams over web and uses whatever bandwidth is available. You can watch it over any speed connection at varying qualities.

If you just want to prove a point at no / small expense it's possible to get a mate in the UK to stream sky to you via messenger (I have done this by accident before Wink). All he needs is a capture card and set that up as a webcam and you can watch his sky on whatever channel it's currently on. This should be enough to prove that it's possible... but it wouldn't be so impressive infront of a bunch of people.

I have the full Sky package with Sky+ box downstairs, Sky box upstairs + Cable (350k upload speed to limassol).

A slingbox at my end would 'prove the point' no problem.

Your UK Side would have to have their sky box on all the time with the slingbox connected to their broadband connection if your looking for 24x7 Sky.

So outlay is slingbox - 1 off - running costs for electricity at slingbox site.

I'll half you for a slingbox on a six month 'viewing contract' lol.

Dougie.

Not sure how this works if i'm watching another channel Huh??
Alternative= you pay £10 extra per month for another multi-room subscription

The more I think about this (post PM james), your best option would be to hook up with one of your local sky subscribers (who paid £2k)

Buy a slingbox (preferably slingbox pro - for HD).

Get it installed in your friendly neighbours (with the sky subscription)

You get mega fast top notch sky signal from your local mate over the (local) internet.

Dougie.

Main problem still - regardless wherever the Sky box is - you change channels, it changes at the sky source.

You need a multiroom subscription (either in Cyprus or the UK) for your own 24x7 Sky.

Always assuming broadband connections are 100% remember - your still relying on the internet 100%.

Best of luck ...

p.s. another edit - you must watch bandwidth allowences from the slingbox source. if your watching 24 hours, it's 24 hours contstant upload from the slingbox source. this can attract severe penalties for bandwidth usage
