Now i go into every tournament thinking I am the weakest player. It is part of my preparation. i find it a good mental point to start from. The great thing about the game is how everybody approaches it differently. So I am not going in there thinking of a big return and I do not want you to invest in me.
Hmmmmm but I would like your positive vibes in Waterford so here is the big bribe moment. I am going to give 15% of anything I win in the main event to charity. Normally I give to Great Ormond Street every year but I am sure there must be charities (registered as opposed to Kev's benevolent fund etc.) that I am unaware of that Blondes are involved in. Firstly if you post here you will make me and others aware. Secondly as there is no guarantee that I will win anything I will donate my last sky fee which I gained by standing in for somebody to the charity chosen.
Please post details of your charity on here. I will set up the poll from the posts on Wednesday night before flying out on Thursday morning. Please help the weakest player in the tournament overcome the odds by all your positive thoughts.
My charity is Great Ormond Street. It goes on the list

We've already said if we're lucky enough to cash in any way this week-end, at least 10% will go to Mallow Hospital where Timothy's father was treated. He had 7/8 of his stomach removed due to cancer and is alive and kicking thanks to them for 4 years running now. It's a very small hospital with limited funding, but they still treat the patients like gold and are great to the families as well. They're delighted with any donation they get, regardless of how small. They money is used for hospital needs and not to pay administrators, so we know it's going somewhere good...and not lining the pockets of a bunch of 'suits'.

I'd like to give a mention to a charity that I'd never heard of until a friend of mine tragically took his own life last year, and his family asked for donations instead of flowers. I also think mental health charities often get overlooked in favour of more widely supported charities, so this has been my charity of choice this year. www.rethink.orgthanks

Great/wonderful/stonking idea Snatty. I will do the same - The Catholic Childrens Rescue Society is very close to my heart and will get 15% of any of my winnings.
Well done Phil for reminding us it's not just about us. x

Nice idea Mr Snat! I'd like to propose Helen House Children's Hospice in Oxford - a respite and palliative care hospice for children with a life expectancy of less than 25. Sophie (Mrs Sheriff) works there as part of the care team who do an awesome job dealing with some heartbreaking cases. Obviously I'm not totally unbiased about this, given the connection, so I'm declaring it here! Link for info is http://www.helenanddouglas.org.uk/
