Was trawling thru transfer market to see what kind of bargains i can pick up when i put my star player on transfer market in few weeks when i spotted this:

40. Anthony Stanway £6,500,000 (Bally Bruisers)
Plays for: All Guns Blazing          Stamina: mediocre           W/Keeping: worthless
Age: 17 years old                    Batting: abysmal              Concentration: worthless
BT Rating: 5,989                     Bowling: respectable        Consistency: competent
Deadline: 28/11/2007 14:42     Fielding: worthless

Now if this is how much you have to pay to pick up an average bowler then i'm putting my all rounder on the market for £25,000,000 Cheesy

Picked this guy up for 4,000 the other day. Thought it was a pretty decent bit of business as I'm shockingly short of batsmen. Would welcome the opinion of the more experienced players though...

Plays For: Grolsch Guerillas

My opinion; he has a funny name.

Perhaps that's why he was so cheap.

he is short on stamina and will need a fitness net before he can play anything other than friendlies

could fill in a OD game as a number 5 or6

I think either of these 2 would be better fill ins:

1. Ledley Tyler  £2,000 (Jammies)
Plays for: House of Trouser    Stamina:    feeble    W/Keeping:    worthless
Age: 25 years old    Batting:    mediocre    Concentration:    competent
BT Rating: 2,828    Bowling:    abysmal    Consistency:    woeful
Deadline: 29/11/2007 18:57    Fielding:    feeble

2. Pervez Laeeq £2,000 (Up Goes The Finger)
Plays for: dangerous_time    Stamina:    woeful    W/Keeping:    worthless
Age: 26 years old    Batting:    competent    Concentration:    mediocre
BT Rating: 3,462    Bowling:    abysmal    Consistency:    woeful
Deadline: 29/11/2007 18:58    Fielding:    feeble

With worthless stamina he will really struggle.

I wouldn't want to waste a net on him, he will take about 30 weeks to get to med.

Buying a med/med/med and putting 1 bat on would get to med/comp/comp quicker.

I think the transfer market is VERY inflated....

I put my awesome YP on the market

George King - 17 yo, BT Rating=10,225 [transfer listed]
RH Batsman, RH Spin Bowler, mediocre batting form, competent bowling form, fair
A destructive player with proficient leadership skills and worthless experience.
Stamina:    mediocre    Wicket Keeping:    worthless
Batting:    proficient    Concentration:    mediocre
Bowling:    respectable    Consistency:    respectable
Fielding:    worthless

put him up for £3m, I think about 1m too much. However with 44 hours to go someone has bid Smiley

Bit low on fielding, but don't think £3mill is too inflated myself.

25yo, med/prof/med bats go for £1mill nowadays (well mine do... ), so significant increase for being 17+ resp/resp bowling on top. Also a spinner (good for allrounders for PFL) + destructive (quite like destructive all rounders for 2 reasons - if they get out cheap it doesn't matter too much as they are a "free" batsman, 2 they score quickly and so don't waste precious PFL (important on allrounders).

Still if you don't have max interest it's a very good bit of business! Wink

I'm just short of max interest, but that wasn't what I was looking at. In order to have half a chance of being competitive in V next season, I need to have a decent squad, not one or 2 superstars. With this, I'm sure by the end of the season I can have several prof primary skills with half decent secondaries as well as a couple of strongs. I'm not worried about FC seeing as I'm 116 points clear of 3rd with just the 4 games left. 8 points clear in OD, with only 2 non BOT games, however at home in 2 weeks v 2nd. So not worried about the rest of this season at all.

Do you have another decent all rounder though?

I think in many cases they are worth more than their transfer market value!

I have 2. My wk/batter is my actual best batsman, and I have an 18 year old, who given the nets, will be decent in approx 12 weeks. I will however, be trawling the transfer market with the £3m or so I have.

started my preparation for next season.

Trawling for bargains for div V and here's the 1st one for 767k

   13. Jordan Goodhead - 17 yo, BT Rating=7,021
RH Batsman, RH Spin Bowler, superb batting form, respectable bowling form, sublime
An attacking player with strong leadership skills and worthless experience.
Stamina:    competent    Wicket Keeping:    worthless
Batting:    proficient    Concentration:    competent
Bowling:    worthless    Consistency:    worthless
Fielding:    worthless

fielding is the downside, but I can multi net him through till the end of the season. Leaves me with 2m+ for decent players and 3 full YPs to come...
