Can't get any web pages to load on the kids new laptop

Got the girls a lappy for xmas.

We (well Pete) has set up the wireless router.

We can get AOL to start up(although it does switch this pc off when it starts up)

We can send an email

But we can't get a web page to load up,we type in the address bar and nothing happens not even the little egg timer thingy.

Any help on this would be great.

We really wanted to get it up and running before xmas for them.

what internet are you using ? e.g. IE / firefox etc ??

Make sure you have your current browser up to date so that the sites will load, and if you have any firewalls make sure the ports are open to your internet browser.

All sorted now.

Just need to convince Pete now that he doesn't need to keep testing it lol
