Oddly, according to Chambers, gurn is actually spelt girn.
However I prefer gurn and will continue with that spelling even if Mr Chambers chooses to disagree....

Sorry to be the bearer of bad news but
Anthony
Nicholls
is OUT!
He hasn't had the best of days, coming into the day as the 2nd chip leader, only slightly behind
Marc
Goodwin
, his stack had been whittled away, probably much of it relocated to the burgeoning stack of his tablemate,
Martyn
Cavanagh
...
I joined his table to find him allin with
Marc
Goodwin
who had him well covered.
The board was showing
and sitting in front of
Anthony
Nicholls
was
whilst Marc held the dominating
which was good for what was a rather sizeable pot.
It was confusing as to where the chips went in in this hand but David Colclough had some choice quotes regarding this hand, including "that was the most astonishing hand of poker I've ever seen at this stage of a tournament,",closely followed by a comment to
Marc
Goodwin
of "Hey Golden Bollocks, I don't want any more complaints from you about your luck!"
Dave
Colclough
is on around 35k whilst
Martyn
Cavanagh
is going great guns with around 90k or so...

Here are veeerrry rough chip counts for all our remaining players. Generally speaking, the bigger the stack, the rougher the count. Sorry.
Table 1:
Mohammed
Hussain
-- 4k, oops, actually I think he's OUT now
Red Dog -- 25k... NOOO! He's in the press room so therefore he's OUT - ran into Kings for the third time and his Tens didn't stand a chance. Unlucky, Tom. Excellent run over the past couple of days though
I think one Mr Zafar Mirza? -- 35k
Clive Padden -- 33k after doubling up, 4-flushing with A-K against
Paul
Jackson
's pocket Nines
Steve
Jelinek
-- 50k
Jo Koumi -- 90k
Paul
Jackson
-- 65k
Doc -- 23k
Mickey
Wernick
-- 40k
Table 2:
Martyn
Cavanagh
-- 105k
Rob Reece -- 38k (we think - below, in the baseball cap. He just doubled up with A-J against
Martyn
Cavanagh
's pocket Sevens, Ace on the flop)
Harpit
Gurnam
(yay! also below, sadly not actually gurning, or even girning, which is obviously wrong) -- 95k
Surinder
Sunar
-- 17k
Marc "Golden Bollocks" Goodwin -- maybe 200k
Dave
Colclough
-- 55k

Micky Wernick has just played out a big pot with Arulman Sivaguru.
Arulman who has nursed his short stack throughout today had about 22k at the start of the hand.
He raised to 5.5k in late position and Micky scratched his beard several times before moving his single tower of chips totalling about 32k over the line...
Arulman had a long think "I don't think I can pass here..." and eventually called with
.
"I'm happy with that" said Micky, showing
.
The flop came
6g
though, providing Arulman with a much needed double up and leaving Mr Wernick looking pretty short.
On the same table Zaphir mirza now raises to jsut over 5k, but is met by a re-raise from Steve Jelinek to 20k...he passes.
13 players remain, we have just started the 1.5k 3k level and the average stack is currently 79,400.

By the way, I googled Zafar Mirza to try to confirm our player's identity, and for some reason these guys came up. I thought I'd post their photo as now that Red Dog is out, we're down to a single moustache - that of Mr Joseph Koumi. Photo of that hopefully also to follow. In the meantime, enjoy the awesomeness that is the guy on the left:

Well I definitely can't compete with his 'tache, but I do have one of those hats(with a flap inside which comes down to protect the ears from the cold) from my time in Canada.

Now on 1.5k, 3k, Arulman Sivaguru has just played out a big pot with Steve Jelinek.
Arulman shoved for around 30k on Steve's big blind. "I think I have to call this" remarked Steve and made the call for what was most of his chips with
"Ah, I was making a move" said a slightly sheepish Arulman as he turned over

The flop was a scary one for Jelinek as it came down

The turn came the

There has just been an interesting hand on Micky Wernick's table.
Micky raised to 5k, which Red-Dog now called, but it was re-popped behind by (i think) Clive Padden to 15k.
Micky passed after a bit of thought and equally Red Dog passed, showing J-J...
Clive showed K-K and Micky apparently passed Q-Q!!!
heroes, the pair of them!

You'd have saved 5k more than Mickey though by passing preflop...
