yeah great race to watch didnt have a bet in race myself but still got excited,, 2 brave horses but kauto has more heart even with mistakes he makes he still will not let a horse past him, sign of a champion, dont think exotic will beat him at cheltenham or kempton but you can still see them both jumping the last together and kauto battling on to win again, i think if they where both running 3 to 5 years ago they would of found it a lot more tougher ,dont think they would of beat best mate or kicking king ,

Denman runs next week.He could be the one to challenge Kauto, providing mr nicholls let's them go head to head.

i agree, denman could be the number 1 this time next year he has looked a very good horse, ive just looked up the odds for the Hennessy, 9/2 denman, only 1 bookie giving odds on kauto 10/1 so i think katau will prob miss the race, katau is set to give denman 20 lb , thats a lot of weight to give a horse who could beat you at level weights, nicholls and walsh have prob 2 best horses in cheltenham gold cup, i will back denman for value if nicholls says denmans target is cheltenham gold cup , katau is a bit suspect in his jumping and likes to have a battle, i can see denman taking the lead 3 out and going clear with katau not being able to peg him back, i think ive just talked my self into having a few bob on denman for the gold cup ,havent i ,lol,

just posting in case your interested ,ive spent a bit of time reading up on denmans plans as i like to check before i put any antepost bets on ,owner says he should run this weekend if ground not bad, plans to run denman in ireland over christmas as kempton not his type of course , owner says denman loves cheltenham and he would like nothing more than to take katau star on in 2008 gold cup, thats enough for me just had a few bob at 5/1, think i will have a bit more on if walsh is riding

I would be very surprised if Denman takes Kauto on in the GC this year..and even more surprised if he beats him..ruby definetly will ride Kauto in the GC...5-1 might look good on Denman but only if Kauto somehow doesn't make the gold cup.

i wouldnt be surprised,i am not tipping the horse but i think the horse could be a champion, i know both horses are trained by nicholls , thats the only reason he may not run,as trainer might not want them to clash. i know he is not a cert to run thats why he is 5/1 but if horse is good enough he has to let him take his chance, owner must think denmans good enough and its his decision at the end of the day which may make him run, the horse loves cheltenham, its going to be hard to find a race for him, handicap woudnt be any good as he would carry lumps of weight,he is running at the weekend i wont have a penny on him ,its a handicap and he has to much weight, i may be wrong but i have not read anything anywhere saying walsh prefers katau to denman if they met in gold cup ,you would think walsh would stay loyal to katau, but he does ride both horses in the big races so he has the choice, that's why i say i will put more on if walsh rides, but till he says he rides katau its not definite
