i do think a lot of people mess round pretending they are hypnotised, i got up on stage with one of best m8s, i grew up with him from a kid and knew him inside out, he was not someone who would clown around for the sake of it in front of an audience, the hypnotist was telling us you are sleepy, you cant open your eyes, i am smiling opening 1 eye at a time not doing anything to us i am thinking, my m8 sat next to me was telling me with a bit of panic that he couldn't open his eyes, my friend was hypnotised to be a sergeant major, when a certain tune was played he would march round the audiance and start shouting at everyone to get there haircut, he was told when music stopped he would walk back to his seat and sit down feeling a right prat, i saw the look in his eyes when the music started, no way was he putting it on, you could see him turn into a different person, he was very embarrassed ,when the music stopped seeeing everyone peeing themselves with laughter ,he even tried to walk out at the interval, the hypnotist spotted him and played the music on the organ, i can still see him now marching back in to the club shouting at everyone, brilliant, a lot of people believe its fixed and i am sure it does happen but there are a lot who do go under, there has been a lot of study into hypnotism, the british army did a lot of successful tests during the first world war which are facinating, the Russians use it a lot nowadays, well worth looking up
