A brave brave performance from Glasgow Rangers tonight, but sadly though the 2nd spot in the group slipped out of their grasp.
After aquiring 7 points from your first 3 games, you did the Brits proud though, so don't beat yourself up to much, and as for Big Darchville, the big fella was so unlucky, he is a decent player and 99 times out of 100 thats in the back of the net, if so you probably would have gone on to actually win the game, no doubt.
Still its an astounding year for the Brits in football......
Glasgow Celtic, Man Utd, Arsenal, Liverpool and Chelsea all making the financial Big bucks of the cup everyone dreams of playing in!
and not forgetting....Spurs, Bolton, Everton, Aberdeen and Glasgow Rangers all playing in the secondary European trophy.
Surprising to many of you, but i actually felt myself wanting Rangers to score that equalizer towards the end, unfortunately tho, Lyon were just a better team on the night.....
The UEFA Cup is still a Trophy...chin up comrades

problem is the national sides don't qualify for championships or play well or benefit from this at all, and even worse none of us would exchange success for our club for success for the national team
Somehow I find it all a bit sad

Club comes first last and always for me. And Rangers failing makes it in there ahead of the national team doing well

There is little proof of this.
Everyone quotes the Italian WC winning team but Brazil have won 5 WCs and where do the best Brazilians play? Same with the French 98 WC team. The Dutch 88 Euro team. I could go on.
There is no reason why you cannot have the best league in the world and a great national side IMO.

Yes there is. It's called the FA.

I wanted Rangers to go through last night, but they were easily the second-best team on the pitch. That two minutes of mayhem was one of the most exciting bits of football I've seen for a while when Lyon should have scored but the ball was cleared off the line, and then it went straight up to the other end where Ferguson did brilliantly to get the ball through to Darchville about 4-yards out only for him to put it over via the bar.
Enjoy the UEFA cup, and hopefully you'll knock everton out...
