oh to be so lucky
And you need to avoid me, too. I'm rampant.
Can someone please ask Tikay how he did in the DTD £200? He muttered something about pushing all in with 8 6 off when his opponent had trip jacks, I would have asked more but I was still playing the first hand of the competition......
I'll repeat that - the first hand of the competition......

He's obv made a high class moved that was wasted on the other person. Such moves can sometimes only be appreciated by the cream of professionals.
Wish I didn't live 150 miles away!

It was another truly terrific evening at dtd, & the Atmo there is really starting to come together now. There were again some 10 Cash-Tables on the go most of the evening. The Cash-Game players included Thewy, Rob Yong, Chubbs, Red-Dog, Chili, Kim Costa, Barry Neville, etc, so as you can imagine, the craic was splendid. There were players from all over the place there - several from Birmingham, including Des Bling Bling Jonas, & Tracey Delll & snatimaras made the journey up from Luton.
I think it's important to put the record straight as to my performance in the £200 Tournament, as I make my living from commenting on the game, & I need to protect my reputation.
For starters, I never held 8-6 in my exit hand, this would be a quite ridiculous hand upon which to stake one's entire Tourney.
In fact, I played pretty faultless poker early on, with excellent judgement. Then the Guy to my left got very lucky on me.
The Flop had come.....
I'd Bet out on that flop, he'd Re-Raised, I shoved, & he made an awesome call.
He was holding
. I had
. How these guys make these calls mystifies me, especially on what was, technically, the first hand of a Tourney - I think I'm a target these days. He had almost no re-draws in his hand - except to the Full House - & if it came a backdoor straight, we are chopping it up. He managed to dodge the bullets & his hand hung on.

The very last hand of the night goes to Dewi James, who finds ACES and talks Raymond O’Mahoney into calling his all-in preflop bet of 15k. “If I had AQ, I’d call!” says Dewi. Raymond calls holding pocket 66’s.

No, I limped on Thewy's BB, intending to nick it off the Luckbox Post-Flop (he's so weak), & JJ Man Raised it up behind me. I called the Raise, thus perfectly disguising the strength of my hand. When the Cards went on their backs, he looked quite shocked, as did many. The art of deception is all-important in poker, & nobody - not a soul - had me on that.
