I'm so sorry Mo.  Will keep thinking of him and all the family and hope this is just a wee set back.  xx

Oh my, Maureen, that's such a worry.

I was discussing Reece with both Tom & Dewi at the weekend, & we all hoped his latest crisis has been overcome.

The good vibes are in transit. Hope tomorrow goes well.

I guess Reece is very down again, in his mind?

Very much so. Also saying how he hates this body of his etc..he is worryingly thin too.

Well let's hope the Hossie get him sorted out.

I do so feel for you all, but he need to keep cheerful, for him - as you know, kids are far more perceptive - & resilient - than most give them credit for.

I'm sure he'll be right as rain in a few days.

Reece had his operation yesterday.

I was out last night, but had 2 Texts from Maureen, whicxh I'm sure she won't mind me sharimg.

"Just out of theatre, and still in recovery. They have put it in his arm first time for us in his arm."

I assume that refers to his new "line".

In response to my subsequent "how is he now?", Mo then replied......

"Not allowed to see him yet but the op went quicker & better than expected. At least we still have 2 veins left, but he said all over, his veins are not great".

All very stressful, for everyone.

Chin up Maureen, & xx to Reece.

He has a full on appetite today. Line is in his arm which will save the groin veins for later. We were not told until post op that this was an option, maybe he wanted to try it first, but he did come to us before bringing Reece around to make sure we were ok with it being there. Anything to save his main veins. Antonino is reluctant to restart TPN just yet, but goes away for a break at the weekend so at least the line is there and the TPN is ordered for Tuesday. Stacey is in hossy with him until all being well Saturday and they are trying another brand of enteral feed into his Gastrostomy in hope he wont vomit off this one and maybe absorb some goodness from it. Fingers crossed on that. If he can not come home Saturday Darren is sleeping there as I am back on lates. The new hospital charges £10 for 6 or more hours parking so bloody expensive to visit sick children, with the distance to the hossy it makes out to be an expensive do but he is well worth it but maybe time to start thinking on moving him to Leeds.

That Car Park charge is scandalous.

Hope Reece continues his recovery - as he always does.

They charge the hossie staff (Nurses, cleaners etc) the same rate. Bloody ridiculous
