He was in recovery by 11, but not sure of exact time or details of the op.  Just hope they achieved their goals with it.  Will update once I've heard - if Maureen doesn't get here first.

Just want to say thanks to everyone for their good luck wishes.  Believe it or not, it does help Mo and family to know you're all behind them.  xx

Tough day for Reece in theatre and awful for us too.

Took almost 4 hours to get in the bowel as in was in a very bad way with adhesion's, once in there it was found that the dilation was due to the part of the bowel that had had the Bianchi done in Manchester had sort of looped and blocked. This is why the the dilation was so great but unfortunately it had ruined that part of the bowel and the S T E P bowel lengthening was not able to be performed. Therefore a tapering was done to rid him of the saggy dilated area. Also it was noticed that he had little muscle in the lower tummy, so muscle has been moved around ( not sure how this was done) so Reece will have move strength there. Plus the bowel needed to be re positioned, this was also done and the scar area from Manchester tidied up. My Sugerman is happy with what he has done, he feels that now Reece will be far far more comfortable and able to maybe eat more. Already the lumpy swollen area is flat. He has been in and out of it all night, he has an epidural in amongst other things to ease the pain, but as the theatre staff wheeled away they managed to catch the tube going into his back so not too sure if that is going to help much if it moved. It is tapped to his back so hopefully it is still in position.

Terrible terrible day, do not think we have the strength to go through it again. Thanks for all the responses, never felt so alone as yesterday.

Wow - tough day and night for all. The good news is it sounds like the surgeon knows what he is doing, thank goodness.
