I beat third easy. Unfortunately last week my losing draw to second saw my one point lead become a one point deficit and he won again this week easy too and will be in IV while I remain in V, by a measly point.
Currently 2nd in OD, need third to beat first to bring my superior nrr into play. League leaders have PFL issues and third will have mostly invigorated or better so I could still finish top and get into a playoff.
I'd rather be in DIV IV in FC than OD tho!

Abject performance from my batsmen. Lost by an innings and 82 runs. Thankfully my bowlers did ok and got me the couple of points that i needed to secure my top 4 place.

End of day 2, he's 4 runs ahead, I assume he'll declare overnight and the game will fizzle out to a draw.

Playing the team 2nd in league though on paper i have the better squad. Interesting method of keeping me away from bonus points, in first innings batting first i made 402 inside 61 overs for the loss of just 2 wickets after an opening partnership of 341 from Able and Kirkland. By the end of the opening day i have my opponent on the ropes at 186 for 6 hoping to make him follow on early on day two. My opponent had other ideas however and having lost another wicket early decided to declare on 202 leaving me short on full bonus points it also meant that he also had to follow on!! However in his second innings he's 356 for 3 giving me a lead of 156 going into the final day. Need to take a few quick wickets and i should win the game - not sure about opponents tactics though

Won easy enough
372-1 dec in just 51 overs! My opener and no 3 both scored unbeaten 150.
In reply bowled them out for 55 and 108. Main strike bowler taking 5-14 and 6-19. Wk took 5 catches in the 1st innings and 4 catches and 4 stumpings in the second.
Thats 14 wins from 14 in the FC league, and one more in the OD league for the same

My game is finely poised - my opponent having declared for 202 in his first innings went on to reach 538 all out in his second innings (at one point being 526 for 6 with the game heading for a dull draw).
The lead is 338 with 47 overs left in the day - normally i would say that the game is heading for a draw but in my first innings i reached my declaration total of 402 inside 61 overs at a rate of 6.6 an over. The target at the moment is 7.2 an over, a tough ask but both Kirkland and Able are in good form lately and they have strong hitting batters to follow so who knows.........

Not a good day for me!
The weather switched to cloudy and humid and my batters have not done a good job:
End of Over 61 (1 runs). Bigglesthwaite CC: 179-7, runrate=2.93 (1st Inn: 436-7 dec) Lead by 170 runs. (M.J.B. 445-4 dec) Disley* 101 (96 balls) Elliott 5 (26 balls)
There are 48 overs left in the day, I need to see off another 10-15 of them I think to get a draw...
On the place side, Disley has been awesome in FC since I moved him down to 5.

Well I just bokked Disley.
Still can't fault him scoring > 50% of the teams runs.

Slight miscalculation on the scoreboard - i thought i only had 47 overs to get the 338 runs but it appears as though i've got 48 as there have been 8 overs before the tea interval, leaving the final session of 40 overs to come.
So far so good - if i do have 48 overs then the required rate comes down to 7.05 per over.......
The players are off the field for tea. End of Over 8 (8 runs). Matts Monkeys: 62-0, runrate=7.75 (1st Inn: 402-2 dec) Trail by 276 runs. (Shedite_Fighters 202-7 dec & 538-10) Haines 4-0-31-0 Kirkland* 35 (22 balls) Abel 26 (27 balls) Hopefully they can keep up the good run rate after they stuff their faces on banana sandwiches!!

I have a lead of 181 at the minute with 40 overs (only 39 available to them) to go, which means they have a minimum RRR of 4.64.
They were scoring at around 4.1 in the first innings so it could be tight!

Just realized why i'm scoring so heavily against my "sublime" rated opponent - he currently lies 2nd only 1 point off the top of the league. obviously he doesnt want to win promotion this year hence him declaring on 202 in the first innings to avoid getting bonus points and now he has his batters bowling against me If i didnt know any better then i reckon there's a malaysian betting scam going on somewhere!!
