Bought a cheap laptop, got a call & the company had been sent a better specced machine & I was getting it for the same price - good news.

Anyway the day it was due to arrive I got a Vodaphone PCMCIA card. Got the Laptop - here I go poker online at last.... there isn't a PCMCIA slot on the laptop  Huh?

So - I want to keep the laptop - as it's a goodun... so I need a PCMCIA card reader that connects via USB. I can't find one in Glasgow but am wondering if any of you techy guys can locate one..... please???

Tried Ebay - loads of cards to put into the PCMCIA slot that allow more USB connections - but going the other way? Can't find any!!

I don't know if these exist, I have had a good look and cannot find any. As you say, many going the other way...

Are you sure there is no CardBus slot? That seems mighty strange for a laptop bought nowadays...

That looks hopefull... their UK supplier doesn't seem to stock it - but I'll chase it up (need to confirm the make of the 3G card).

Thanks

Not the following quote on that site:

'Other PCMCIA cards - including memory cards - are not supported'

If it is not a Merlin, then I wouldn't go for this. But well found Ali.
