The natural son refuses as he knows that he suffers from haemophilia (a resessive genetic trait which prevents blood clotting and known to be common in the royal family because of incest  ) and possibly because of the method used to obtain blood for paternity test knows that he risks injury and may possibly die as a result (bleed to death). Therefore he is declared the actual heir as the representatives of the king knew of the medical disorder. Kind of tenous this one as in an age capable of providing a paternity test it would be assumed that they are also capable of obtaining genetic material by a mean other than blood.......but hey its a logic puzzle  |
