Late position steal leads to a decision.

I am in late positon blinds at 75/150, average stack about 3000, i'm on 9,400, button is sitting out, then there is the sb with 1370 and bb with 7820. Sb from what i've seen very weak and i expect to fold bb is fairly new to table so no real info but has raised OOP a couple of times to take down uncontested pots.

I raise to 600 with the massive   

sb folds, bb calls, flop comes 


bb   is insta allin for 7220.

What's your thinking here, does the insta shove tell me anything? are you insta folding?

For weak little old me yes...... No need to call as well above average chips. I reckon he has Jacks or Queens, top pair, flush draw, up and down straight draw or even two pair but no doubt I have read incredibly incorrectly..........just like last night at the G

I'd pass.  I wouldn't bother trying to steal here though, especially against another monster stack.

Instafold.  That's a big bet from a big-ish stack.  Does he have a monster flush draw ?  Strange bet, but one that I certainly couldn't call in this situation with.  You have too big a stack to gamble it hear with middle pair no kicker.  Much prefer to be pushing in with crap than calling with it.

It was online so no physical tells and 20 secs to act with no timebank.

Time for the confessional box, i fell in love and got married to my stealing hand connecting to the flop. My brief thought process was that had he had AA or KK i would of expected a more trappy check or small raise on the flop. Likewise if he had hit the flop. Thus i put him on a big draw.
Resulting in me donking off 80% of my chips to opponent, who held    and hit a  on the river.

Obviously i worked out after the hand, that i'd made a massively stupid play and really got my fingers trapped in the cookie jar, once i'd got hold of a piece of said cookie. Hence my post here.

I think the first piece of knowledge gained from this thread is to fold, second is i'm needlessly getting involved with another chipped up person hence risking more of my stack. 

Oh well i'll learn from my mistakes hopefully.

P.S. one last question if the same hand is played out again but the BB has a stack of say 2500 all in on the flop would that maybe tempt a call from anyone?

I think the idea to steal from the big stack isn't a bad one.  If he has nothing, he won't want to get involved with another big stack.  He folds you're laughing, he calls you have to hit the flop VERY hard, he re-raises you can lay it down.

Against a smaller stack, the stop-n-go all-in shove on the flop is probably more likely from him.  So the steal would be less advisable to me (although I'm probably very wrong here).

You are behind to any hand with 2 clubs and 2 overcards, like AK, 46/54... I cant see any hand that he pushed in with that you could remotely think about calling...

I probably don't even go stealing here.........blinds are small.....stack is big.......for me I change gear and wait for a moment of strength

If you are stealing this wide be raising to 400 rather than 600. It's the same decision for the blinds and the flop plays out similiarly. You will just be able to make cheaper continuation bets and save a couple of blinds the times you don't win the pot. It will all add up.
