The Superbowl. Feb 3rd

New England Patriots vs New York Giants
the Patriots have opened 14 point favourites on the Vegas spreads, one of the biggest expected margins in Superbowl betting markets
The reasons are clear. The Patriots are 18-0 and one of the best ever teams. All time great QB, WR and fantastic offensive and defensive lines. Coached by a ruthless and talented team
However the Giants will beat the spread, if not win the game (I don't expect them to win, but I expect it to be closer than the market suggests)
The Giants have now won successive games IN Tampa, Dallas and Green Bay, a rare acheivement to do that and unprecedented to beat the Packers away in the play-offs
They have a pass rush..Strahan, Tuck and Omeniyora that can pressure Brady. Stop Brady having time and as SD showed, he's human. Eli Manning the QB is.against my expectations, maturing rapidly in these play offs. And in Brandon Jacobs the Giants have a horse of a running back
I always like going against these huge spreads. I think its correct this time too
Back the Giants with a 14 point start

Actually its the giants who have the first Scottish Born player and Celtic Fan in NFL history, Lawrence Tynes - the guy who when I went to my bed at 3am I was convinced had blown NYG chance of a place at the superbowl.
I like the Giants - but I am no expert. One thing I noticed last night, and it may have had to do with the extreme weather, but a lot of the QB throws from manning did not find their target - although the guy smith did redeem himself with some big 3rd down catches in the 4th quarter.
If their passing is so wayward in the next game, the Patriots will destroy them.

two things
a) the weather
b) the packers corners backs are two of the best around, and press recievers a lot
The Ginats are the value to beat the spread in a fortnight

Thought the Giants defence was pretty amazing last night, especially in the 2nd half. If they can play like that against the "evil empire" then the current spread looks way to big....

Was Scott Mccready a Scots lad, I think he was the first Brit to have won a Superbowl ring when he played for the Pats about 5 years ago?

Bit of a newbie to this sort of betting, what happens if they lose by 14, (i.e draw after spread) bet loses??

In a high wind he missed his first kick from 43 yards, then the snap was bolloxed up, then he hits one of his longest kicks ever (47 yards, his best being 48) when the real pressure was on. Bit unfair slagging the misses.

I know relatively nothing about AF, but have a mate from Uni who played for Shropshire Revolution, he can't wait for the final...
