Quite right too. I love Becks and what he did for us in his prime, but this squad needs the biggest kick up the arse and this is the right way to go about it. Show em who is boss Fabio.

I disagree, I think it's a shame he can't get his 100th cap.

It's only a friendly, there are enough slots that Fabio can watch enough other people, he only has to bring Beckham on for a few mins and it's job done, it won't cost the side anything in terms of progress.  Beckham has done enough for English football in the past, I think he should be given the 100th cap, then finish his International career.

I think the message Fabio is sending is more powerful than sentimental gestures.

Am for and against this,I think its a shame that he didn't get his 100th and surprised the F.A didn't speak up on his behalf after all 100 caps is a bit a milestone and it is after all just a friendly, but on the other hand it shows that cappelo is going to do things his way which in the long run cant be a bad thing

Still blame becks for us not beating the argies and losing our world cup chance

You shouldn't get a 100th cap just for getting to 99.

A great player and gave us some great moments.

He chose to play in the Disney League 1 season too early for me.

Many a premiership team would have taken him on loan from January onwards and he'd be match fit and in the squad now.

He made up for the World Cup by scoring against Greece in the dying seconds to get us to Euro 2000(?) imo

It would be nice if Beckham got his 100th cap.

It would be nice if he gave me and my Dad a run out too.

The reason why the England squad hasnt made it to the European Cup is because the poor excuse for a manager (amongst other things) let the 'star' status of the squad get in the way of things. The squad became bigger than the manager.

I hope he does get his 100th, im sure he will.

Looking forward to what he does about the Lampard/Gerrard problem

doesn't pick Lampard in the starting XI,presumably

I want to see Agbonlahor, Young, Bentley, Hart and the rest of the talented newbies in the squad

I was at Old Trafford in 2004 when he scored a cracker in the 2-0 against us (Wales) and ran the show...

He is knowhere near that level, thank him and move on...

At the moment it's easy.  Lampard is injured, and Gerrard is playing at about 5% of his capability.  The solution, put two other players in there.

i have a mate who has attended every england match home and away for the last twenty years.hes given plenty to english football

he would love his first cap and anyway its only a friendly and no harm can be done! Wink Grin

my mates not good enough and neither now is mr beckham by including him on sentiment is wrong and im sure he himself wouldnt want to be included for that reason.

bentley is a must and a natural successor to beckham in my opinion. i like lennon and swp but they dont offer us what beckham did in his prime whereas bentley does.
not seen enough of agbonlahor or young to comment but hart does look an outstanding prospect.

imo england lack in 2 main parts of the pitch at the moment, goalkeeper and strikers. we have no strength in depth after owen and rooney
