Brilliant - camera work is interesting and the dialogue hard to hear in places but excellently shot.
The cgi is astonishing. The idea and execution of the idea is simply first class. The possabilities of where the franchise could go next are unlimited. A brave movie to make, an excellent movie to watch.

Just been to see this, it is very very good, but I can see that some people will absolutely hate it, as it is unlike any other film of this type. More films should be under 90 minutes long.

Can't see there being a Cloverfield 2 - the whole thinking behind this film is that isn't a 'franchise film'. They're trying to get away from all of that crap.

Lets hope so Andrew - and I don't think JJ will do another, but the temptation for the studio to allow another director to do a 'straight' follow up must be massive.

Seen this last night with the Mrs, I have no bones intact in my hand as every 10 minutes she'd jump and crush it!!
Very very good movie!

I'll put this next bit in small incase anyone hasnt seen the movie and is reading this:
''The last footage shown depicts Rob and Beth ending their day at Coney Island, in which an object can be seen falling from the sky into the ocean surrounding them''
But did anyone else see it? Cos i missed this!!!

Also, the director says this about the possibility of a sequel:
''There's a moment on the Brooklyn Bridge, and there was a guy filming something on the side of the bridge, and Hud sees him filming and he turns over and he sees the ship that's been capsized and sees the headless Statue of Liberty, and then he turns back and this guy's briefly filming him. In my mind that was two movies intersecting for a brief moment, and I thought there was something interesting in the idea that this incident happened and there are so many different points of view, and there are several different movies at least happening that evening and we just saw one piece of another''
Which sounds very interesting, so the 'sequel' may actually be the same time-frame as this one, but from someone else filiming the events...

I haven't seen it yet, however from the reviews I have read it sounds good. I will check it out after work tonight while playing poker.
I watched 'Into the Wild' last night. This was a fairly good movie that had an oscar worthy performance from Emile Hirsch . The music all the way through the movie is by Eddie Vedder and works really well with the flow of the film. It is worth having a look at.

absolute pants. This type of movie is nothing but an excuse to make a film cheaply and disguise it as " a new genre" or "an astonishing piece of film noir" its just a huge money making enterprise and it works. Its just movie making at its laziest. maximising profits is what this movie is about and THATS genius. the movie isn't

Be a hundred times better watched at the cinema imo, a movie that needs a big screen to be seen at its best.
