This History
This hand is from the Irish Poker Championships in Galway Day 2 4 Tables left, just moved to the feature Table
We have been on the feature table an Hour and ive got nothing absolutely nothing. I spent the 1st half an
hour trying not to faint, between the heat and the nerves, it was touch and go.
I have a tighty mctight image because ive have been dealt absolutely nothing.
to be honost it has been a Michael McCool V Jude Ainsworth show.
They have been swapping some banter between themselve talking up about the fact that there is going to be a big clash soon, in a big hand..,
I have stolen blinds twice to stay alive and re-raised Jude Ainsworth Mp raise from 8K to 20K with pocket 10's and took down the pot...
.I am sandwiched between Michael McCool and Ciarain O'Leary and I would say they hardly even notice im there....So to the  hand of interest.
Im in the BB with 75K
Michael McCool SB with 90K
Jude Ainsworth raises to 13K in lp (blinds are 2K 4K)
and Michael McCool goes all in for about 90K.....
He has done this twice before on Jude and Jude has folded.....
I look down at  , and go into the tank.........
Before ive done anything or said anything Jude Ainsworth says
"Remember that hand we've been talking about Michael, the big clashing hand, well this could very well be the hand,"
Im not being picky here, but if I had AK here never mind AJ I would nearly fold, especially after the chit chat.
Anyway I say
"Hang on a second im still in the pot", Jude apologies,
and Michael McCool pipes in with "Give Smurph a chance, she might have a hand and smiles" which raises more alarms...I eventually fold but was a bit annoyed at it.....I
t goes back to Jude Ainsworth and he does an Instant Fold!!!
Michael McCool says to me "Did you have a good hand" and Ace?Huh?
I replied I had a good hand.
he says "I had A10, did you have that beat"?
I said "Don't be ridicilous I would have called with AJ or Better???.
Now im no fool and Michael could have had anything there, but it was like he almost knew what I had......

so my question here is, could anyone see a push here, or is it an instafold??

For me a lot would depend on our overall position in the tournament and what we are hoping to achieve.

I don't want to be calling my stack off with hands like AJ, I don't minde getting my chips in first with it.

Although I fold in this spot more often than not.

Hey Collette, I think a fold here is perfectly reasonable.

There are way too many red warning flags here, & I think you can find a better spot.

The shove by Mick suggests he did not have much, and he can do that equally with Aces or poo, but the implied threat from behind, by Jude, was more of a worry.

It's rather unfortunate for you - & I assume it was not intended deliberately - that Jude spoke at the wrong time.

Hope you are well, & to see you soon.

I think the time you spent in the tank with this hand is all connected to this.....

in combination with this.....

We have been on the feature table an Hour and ive got nothing absolutely nothing.

When you pick up nothing and aggressive oppos are popping and re-popping all around the poker player in you is screaming to get involved. It's a real bugger to just sit there and fold....a tight image can start to suffocate you...and you start seeing yourself as a weak nobody in the eyes of the other players. When this pressure becomes intolerable you can easily release it by calling all-in with a hand like A-J. But I think this would be a mistake. Your tight image has been a real advantage that has helped you steal....and this can continue. Calling all-in tosses that weapon into the dustbin. Are you ahead? I doubt it. If McCool has done this same move on the same oppo a number of times before it would increase the likelyhood he has something this time...and of course O'Leary may well have a hand as well. Did he have A-10? I doubt it. He is cultivating an image and will pick a hand that will assist him in building the image he wants. He knows you haven't gone into the tank with A-9 or worse and so A-10 is the perfect hand to press your buttons....and he did a good job of it as well.

Telling but not showing is LIES!!!!!!!!!!

Use your image to your advantage....keep stealing as and when....then trap these guys with proper strength....don't allow your frustration to find a call here with A-J.
