Media Players/Streamer Machine things

Does anyone have anything like this or know about them?

I'm thinking I'd like to save the hassle of burning dvd's of movies I have on my pc but I'd like to watch them on my tele.  It looks like what I need, but I'd just like to know if they are easy enough to set up from someone that has one.   Also, I take it if I install a hard drive, I don't have to stream, I just upload to it then watch it direct.

I have my xbox hooked up as a Media centre extender which basically lets me do the same thing. It's very good one tip is to only use a wired network as if you are to go wireless the stream will lag a fair bit.
