I almost hate to post this but;

What's your point with those two links? That some government agency in 2007 made a report advising how to deal with childcare? What has been done since then? There are thousands of reports written each day that will be ignored. Listening is all well and good but acting is what really matters.

And the other one a childrens commisioner report asking kids if bullying is indeed bad from november 2006? The guy was appointed in 2005 so they've been listening for a while.

I am not saying these groups don't do a valuable job but this is not news in 2008, surely?

i almost hate to reply;

the point being that at least they have listened to children's views on bullying rather than just having a group of overpaid underworked government think tanks spewing out a report.I agree that it doesn't mean that anything is going to be implemented but usually when ofsted are involved steps are taken to implement such things.

The 2nd link was just for information purpose as it was done in 2006 and as of yet, as normal no implementation of the issue has been introduced

Thought this thread was going to be about this:

http://www.channel4.com/culture/microsites/C/cutting_edge/baby_bible_bashers/index.html

I want to watch this, and I don't want to watch this.  It's going to make me very angry I think.

that would be far too controversial for me

yuck.

that's reminded me of a conversation I had with my daughter the other day that made me smile.  We somehow got on to the subject of religion.  I explained that some people believe in God, and that God made the world, the sun, the planets etc.  She knows people that go to church, and I said that when they go to church they say thank you to God for making everything.  She then said 'so what happens if they go and say thank you to God but he didn't make everything'.  I answered with my usual 'I don't know darling'.  She pondered for a while then said 'does he just say to them, thanks anyway, but it wasn't me?'
