Strange this, I always thought he was a professional sports gambler? Read in paper last week it was for a £5000 dept. Surly it can't have been for something this small? or is he just a degen addicted gambler/.

I don't think I've ever seen him place a bet at a race course other than on Arc day. Didn't have him down as a big gambler..might just  be a hard luck story with him not finding enough work (since the beeb sold all their horse racing action to Ch4) for him.

Not nie to see anyone go through that..especially a genuinely nice guy.

Its an outstanding council tax bill he missed summons for.  This was due to working in South America for Eurosport.

He was a Radio at weekend explaining it - was very embarrassed.  He emphasised he was not broke.
