He was banned. Keep him away from the Sport (as to be fair the BOA are doing with Beijing accreditation).

Carry the Olympic torch? what a joke!

I disagree

I think he has earnt his right to carry the torch  more so than many others that will.

he still claims he is innocent  and even if he did make a mistake in his later years  he still won gold for britain at world olympic and commenwealth games.

he was found guilty, don't care what he claims.

a bad role model and not the image I want representing the London Olympics, my personal view

He isnt representing the London Olympics it is passing through London for 1 day on its way to Beijing.
I still think he is held in the heart of the nation. More people are pro Christie than against him.

Doesnt have have more of a right to carry the torch than Sir Trevor McDonald?

He cheated.  Why not let athletes who won medals and earned millions without cheating carry it?  Also, I don't think Trevor McDoughnut has ever used performance enhancing drugs on the 10 o'clock news.

Indeed. He suddenly sprung to life at the age of 26, then failed a drugs test at the 1988 Olympics, and was only not banned because the IOC voted 11-10 to believe his 'it was the ginseng tea' excuse. After he heard this, Ben Johnson said 'I wish I'd thought of ginseng tea at my hearing...'

Then he failed a second drugs test at the end of his career.

Personally, I'm very anti him. His attitude (I'm innocent, stuff you)  since banning has been terrible. Even Marion Jones eventually fessed up

Trevor MacDonald..why not? good role model for young black people

It was so so funny how he simply couldn't  laugh at the lunch box jokes.

He claimed there was much more to him than his Box, well he was right he was a cheating twat too.

i think christie should carry the torch

his ban is guilty sample is so contriversaul as nandrolone testing is/was unsafe

by eating meet from cattle inject with nandrolone can cause positive results

that candian tennis player who played for britain managed to get his ban lifted

as it was found that some sports suppliments on the "safe list" were infact tainted

if christie was going to cheat why would he wait untill he was retired and only racing

form a challenge by the athletes he was coaching to take the drug

Christie was taking drugs well before his 'semi-retirement'.   He got off in 1988 on a ridiculous technicality.
