Geese flying at night
«

I just heard a flock of Geese flying across my street. I am not an expert on Geese, does anyone know if this is normal behaviour for them to fly at this time of night and where they could be heading? They were flying in a South East direction.
I worry that the early warm weather we have had recently will have an adverse effect on wildlife should a cold snap happen. For example nesting birds unable to find food, etc . I am not sure if wildlife would be caught out in this way or are they able to maintain a perfect sense of timing when breeding regardless of an early period of warm weather. I think Bill Oddie once explained that certain bird species suffer more due to early warm spells than others and as a result this impacts on numbers during the season.
