in XP use an onscreen keyboard

http://www.microsoft.com/enable/training/windowsxp/oskturnonuse.aspx

BUT that means you have to be logged in first, so that wont work

i'm using the onscreen keyboard now, figured how to get into my admin account now.
if i login to the kids account (no password) i open notepad use this to type my password, copy it, switch users i can paste into the password field!
so i can now use my account meaning i can now play poker (kids account has no admin privileges).
phew.....

Do you think if Bill Gates got laid in high school, do you think there'd be a Microsoft?
Of course not.

I still do not understand why you cannot delete the new user you setup with admin rights though.

What mesage do you get when you try and delete that user? (and I am assuming you are trying to delete the user through control panle, user accounts)

It seems that the first user account you create has to have Admin status. You can then create further accounts with Admin or Limited status. If you have more than one user account with admin sttus (not including the actual Administrator account), then you have the option to delete either one. However, once you have only one user account with admin rights the option to delte it is not there, even when logged in as Administrator.

When you see the Windows XP welcome screeen, press ctrl-alt-del twice.

XP then displays all user accounts and let's you select which one to log in with.
