Sale of goods act should cover you for 5 years anyway.

John Lewis will price match if you can find the identical item elsewhere in the UK (and that includes via the internet with the delivery cost included).

You then get the 5-year warranty that they offer on all their televisions, and usually bloody good service.

£550 here

http://www.electrical-deals.co.uk/ServiceCareSite/pages/search/search.asp?txtSearch=Philips+42PFP5532D%2F05&submitflag=true&ctgry=servicecare&serial=08030465333667530&x=17&y=11

HAve you got yours CIA???. I'm looking to buy a couple of plamas in the next few weeks and this seems a decent buy. The only negative I've read is about the sound quality in two seperate reviews. I may have to go and check it out at the local Comet. Don't they have a price match policy.

Coming next tuesday between 3 and 9 went over to currys earlier and looked and sounded a1 to me,
had a look at electric-deals.co.uk but they are only giving a 1 year warranty so i think the extra 4 years is well worth it

You don't need a warranty you are covered by the sale of goods act...

It absolutely does, if it's from a UK retailer, and the delivery price is included (and is in stock).  I know for two reasons.  One, Michelle worked there, and two, my brother got his telly from them.
