Value, or blinkered optimism?

Will Hill have Newcastle as 7/2 for the drop. I know the recent results probably justifies that but after the performance on Saturday and us getting to play three teams below us at home before the end of the season, I think a fairer price would be at least 7/1. I've never got round to looking at how betfair works but if I can lay at that sort of price (7/2) I'd be very tempted.

I think we'll end up with 40 points -which has us winning the three big home games and getting three points from the six away games to Liverpool, Everton, Birmingham, Portsmouth, Tottenham and West Ham.

Whatever happens we are some way off the planned spot of 5th!!! I did make that comment before we sold Dyer and Solano which I think has taken a lot out of our midfield. The strikers aren't playing to their ability and the defence seems to get worse the more it plays together.

which 3 big home games to you expect to win?

if they are against fellow strugglers do you think the team has the spirit and cohesiveness to go that extra bit to pull a result out?

doesn't seem to be a lot of sign of it so far!

Newcastle will win a game in the next couple of matches, no doubt.  They won't go down, mainly because there's a lot worse teams than them.

Reading, Fulham and Sunderland. One away win so far this season between them, none before last weekend. 

The key to beating them will be scoring the first goal in the first half - I think you have a point about the team, I think its confidence rather than spirit or cohesiveness. 

The Blackburn performance made me more confident than I was before it. We need to get Viduka fit and Smith out the team/at least playing where he shouldnt be scoring goals.

With Liverpool having their Champions League game next week it might not be a bad time to catch them ;0)
