And we are off! Jen is off gather photos as we speak.

There's no card system at the moment so we may struggle to find people at first.

Are there any Poles(I hope I can say Poles or maybe should just say Polish people) out there that can explain why we can see still images from the casino in Poland but not televised images...........oh and GL to all Blondes & Brits playing today.
I've got a feeling that Woody Deck is going to go far this week. I expect him all-in with ace rag at least once in the 1st level today.

Seeing as you mention him, he gets the honour of being photo #1, all smiling-like.  And it was actually Ulrica Skonnemark on his table playing the rag Ace ( ) on an Ace-high board from the button, getting two mystery calls and a mystery-muck while I was taking the pictures.

Early huge pot for, I think, Christoffer Sonesson with the two guys either side of him.

The board reads and all three are all-in.

Matey to his left:

Matey to his right:

Christoffer: The free-rolling

River: .

Matey on the right is out, Matey on the left has barely a thousand left and we have an early chip leader.

Equally perky (despite having made out to have just woken up 9 minutes before the start of play - oh the wonder of the iphone) is Dan Carter:

While taking his pic, the one remaining empty seat on his table, next to Peter Jepsen, was filled by/with Dario Minieri (who is, in fact, older than Carter):

So here we have some neighbours you might recognise, from TV, perhaps, or from winning previous tournaments, or from posting on blonde, or a thrilling combination of all three, in the case of Julian Thew, whose neighbour Patric Martensson looks very serious indeed in contrast...

Marc 'Mr. Cool' Goodwin (already all in - uncalled - once this tournament) next to Johan Storakers, both sporting glasses:

Gino Alacqua next to Pab, perfecting the sidelong glance:

And hopefully satisfying any early demands for ladies - here's one - Kara Scott, also on Table Pab.  Due to the No-TV rules here (don't ask me about those, by the way, I have no idea) she's off the Work Hook, and Stars have given her a new task for this one - playing.  She was very excited in the airport yesterday but looks like she's got her emotions under control...

Mateyboy alert:

The player ID system isn't kicking in until Day Two, so if we post any pics of Mateys whom you actually know, please let us know, and then we'll look more professional.

End of Mateyboy alert.

Thewy has lost about 2,700 having on an all club board against and three clubs.

Danny Ryan has knocked out Mateyboy ("He's a french guy," Benjo later says)

Frenchieboy bets 1,600 on a two hearts Two Clubs board, Danny raises to 4,200. Frenchieboy moves in and Danny calls.

Frenchieboy:

Danny Ryan: .

Here he is, delighted that his empy glass is being taken away.

Christoffer Sonesson, early chip leader after that freerolling coup.

Cousin It. (Note, this idea may or may not have been stolen from Benjo)

A hand between the two American gentlemen below. (Note the photo was taken afterwards, and isn't actually of the hand)

Two Clubs

The guy in the 9 seat checks, Seat 1 bets 300, Seat 9 makes it 850. Call

Check check.

Seat 9 now bets 1,500. Seat 1 makes it 3,000. Seat 9 is clearly pained, but then asks for a total count, which is about 9,000(ish). He decides to just call. Seat 1 confidently shows the then the . Seat 9 shows .

Near double-up for Bo 'Legato' Sehlstedt as he eliminates someone-with-his-back-to-me thusly:

Bo raises preflop to something reasonable for the 50/100 level we're currently enjoying.  Two to his left Matey re-raises to a whole 1,000 blue chip.  Think, call.

Flop:    Bo Sehlstedt checks it to the re-raiser, who as expected bets - 1,500.  Back to Sehlstedt who takes out the 1,500, puts it back, looks a bit like he's going to fold, and then slowly, calmly, ships the lot in.  Call from Matey...

Matey shows
Sehlstedt shows for a monstrous top set which duly eliminates his opponent who taps the table and wanders off.

Mid Level Two Chip Counts (Selected):

Dario Minieri -- 11,000
Peter Jepsen -- 1,500
Patric Martensson -- 13,200
Woody Deck -- 16,000
Gino Alacqua -- 13,400
Kara Scott -- 9,800
Paul Foltyn -- 10,000
Marc Goodwin -- 8,150
Johan Storakers -- 9,675
Joe Serock -- 8,350
Robert Binelli -- 13,000
Patrick Bueno -- 9,800
Ramzi Jelassi -- ?6,000
Bo Sehlstedt -- ?17,000
Julian Thew (pictured) -- 1,700.  "This is a treble up!" he announced, semi-happily, pointing at his stack... "Three of us with a flush," he explains wistfully.  I told him he's already on the shortlist for Climber of the Day...

The very last hand of the night goes to Dewi James, who finds ACES and talks Raymond O’Mahoney into calling his all-in preflop bet of 15k.  “If I had AQ, I’d call!” says Dewi.  Raymond calls holding pocket 66’s.
