Lazcano has a record of 37-4-1. The only major world body who currently ranks him is the IBF, at 13.

He hasnt fought for 15 months.

Hatton needs to sort himself out sharpish otherwise the reflection of his career is going to be beating has beens and media overhype.

Looks like they have searched the world for some donk boxer, that Ricky can finish impressively to get his confidence back. Pretty standard tactic in boxing, but it if wants to be regarded as a "great" boxer, which is still possible this ain't going to help.

He was meant to fight Ricky years ago but got injured.

The two camps got on well and Hatton promised he would fight him at some point if he got the chance.

This is the perfect chance for both of them.

A punchbag for Hatton.    Lazcano merits a shot yet Witter doesn't, yeah sure Ricky.  One reason and one reason only that Hatton won't fight Witter and thats Witter would have a good chance of beating him.
