tighty, whats the rule on pro/amateur status. if you take george myself and Alex as examples, george has a job and would be considered amateur although he is a winning player so has to be in the top 5% of tourney players, poker means i dont have a job/mortgage all tho i only play twice a month so could be classed as semi pro, and alex (nearest to full pro) who only has poker cash games as a only source of income but due to playing 50/1 aint ever making a wage you can live on in the long term. would you stop lildave from playing for example? the side events interest me as its not too often you can get to play these games in live tournies and everyone says what good craic apat is. i love the craic in ireland and i am sure your players would welcome with open arms a nice guy like me.
Pete Linton was in the HORSE event last year, so I can't see you being barred if you wanted to play.

On a case by case basis really as it self regulates. Players who think there is an issue speak to us and over 5 years we've decided with about 8-10 who wanted to play they are not eligible
Re your examples, George is a regular APAT player. Alex would be classed as a Pro. We'd have to look at your situation. Probably would be ok

Are the structures/ starting chips for the HORSE and Stud events available?
Same as last year, pending a quick Chat with Simon Trumper when he returns
http://www.apat.com/forum/index.php?topic=6776.0
for all the structures
The Main event will be 15k starting this year
All events "traditional" payout structures
I really hope not, the Stud's was horrible.
Please, more chips + bigger starting bets (something like 8k-10k but starting at last year's level 3 please!)

it was generally agreed that 4k was fine for the Stud, despite much moaning beforehand, it played completely fine

yes i can see your problem. i would have to back george to be +ev in tournies but alex =ev. i think i better give it a swerve. bit of a no win situation as if i do well then people would think well he is bound too and it may even upset others. good luck anyway. looks like fun

As one of the moaners last year, I do agree it was better than I thought it would be. With a lot bigger field this year (was it 64 last year?), 4-5k starting chips might be just about right. Needs to finish in one day as well!

The first 2 levels were so bad it was unbelievable. 25-25-50-100 just doesn't work, the ante's are too close to the bet sizes ratio-wise. My main suggestion was to start at level 3, which would be 25-25-100-200, but 4k stack on that is a bit harsh, so 8k still gives 40BB at the start of the comp but the meaningless first 2 levels are removed.

With the extra runners (64 v 48) we have to be careful to end the thing in one day. From memory 4k and 48 took 10 hours to complete
Will take a look, but my thoughts were it is fine as it is

It really is just those first few levels. The later game was fine (apparently, sure did make it that far).
Maybe have a button rotate for the first 2 levels and have the button pay 75 ante for the hand. That's what the WSOP did this year in the $1500 stud (4.5k starting).

I can't find the tourneys on DTD poker.
Are they not up yet or are they behind some tab that I've not managed to find?

Go to multi table / special then they were right at the bottom in mine.

You can also sort by tournament name, so then the APAT ones are at the top
