Quick pick of the brains of people here

If you had one night in Ireland and the choices of where to stay were Ennis or Shannon - which would you choose ?

Casino's in either place ?

Thanks

As far as I know there are no Casinos in either place but depending on the night there are some pub games in Ennis . Shannon or Ennis Huh? -- 2 pubs and a couple of hotels versus a load of pubs and hotels -- Ennis every time -- only watch your step after closing time its got a little rough over the last few years.......

I only know Shannon from a pogues song but I think they were talking about the river - the broad majestic shannon

So Ennis it is, I have tattoos but I am 45, will the tattoos protect me ?

It's the same rules as any other city.  Just mind yerself and know your way before you head home at the end of the night.  Otherwise, get the bar staff to ring a taxi.  You'll be grand...have fun!

Limerick is about the same distance from Shannon Airport as Ennis and has a Casino offering poker.

Shannon is a dump.  If you can't stay in Limerick then Ennis is your best bet.

There was someone opening a poker club in Ennis, but I don't know if it got off the ground. I'll call my brother later to ask him, he works in Ennis.

As my sister-in-law's giving birth today & was in hospital last night I've not been able to get hold of my brother (damn inconsiderate of him).

But I did a search and got a number: Telephone: 065 6821433

THe post that gave it was a year or so old though. Hope you find it & get a game.
